Assistant Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and levelling: Marking out the site and establishing reference points and levels for construction.
• Checking drawings: Reviewing blueprints, technical designs, and project plans to spot errors or discrepancies.
• As-built surveys: Measuring and recording how structures are actually built compared to the original design.

• Inspections: Checking materials and completed work against project specifications and quality plans.
• Site documentation: Maintaining daily site diaries, progress logs, and material inventory tracking.
• Resolving queries: Flagging technical problems or drawing discrepancies to senior engineers or project managers.

• Liaison: Communicating with subcontractors, craftspeople, and suppliers to keep work on schedule.
• Health and safety: Promoting a safe working environment and checking that workers follow safety rules.
• Equipment maintenance: Storing, cleaning, and calibrating surveying tools properly.
